We spent 8 extraordinary days with Dee and her family.
I went on this trip with my 11-year-old son to improve my English for my work and for my son to learn a few sentences before he starts school .
We discovered this family, it was an incredible encounter.
the whole family is very welcoming and so nice . They made ourselves comfortable.
We were perfectly integrated .
my son could play and enjoyed with the children. I shared a long time with Dee and Erik just talking together and get to know them. I loved this sharing.
They have a lovely house close to the sea.
We visited coffe farm, game reserve, my son enjoyed fishing, playing in Mac banana park, we had breakfast in an incredible place with such an incredible view , we discovered the smallest desert of the world, and natural reserve with Antony who made our guid, we shared barbecue in the reserve and at home…We did unforgettable activities.
There are many things to see and do around Port Edward.
My goal was achieved: I improved my speaking and listening. I am very very satisfied with the trip.

I spent 2 weeks with this family and it was an incredible experience.
At the beginning I was stressed because it was my first time travelling alone and I didn't know how it would be. But when I met Dudrey and Eric I knew it was going to be an amazing trip, they said "now you are part of our family" and that was my feeling throughout my stay.
They make sure that we have a trip that matches our expectations and our personality.
For me it was really important to discover their lifestyle and African culture. It was nice because they really want to share with us the Afrikaans culture, their lifestyle, their specialities and everything.
I saw a lot of beautiful places, a lot of different animals, vegetation, sunset... Eric knows a lot about culture, nature, history, so it was really interesting because I learned a lot.
We did a lot of different things, going to a game reserve, doing boat, horse riding, swimming...
But one of my favourites was when we sat in their garden and talked about different topics for hours.
I also went to learn English and it was a good immersion in English. I had some lessons because Eric and Dudrey are both teachers and as they always said "lessons are every time" and it was true we talk a lot about differents topics, I can ask them about vocabulary, grammar and conjugation all the time. So in that way I think I have improved my English. Before I came I was really stressed about my English because it was really bad and they immediately made me feel in confidence because they didn't judge, they took the time to help me, they always told me to try and that they would correct me and they always did it with a lot of kindness.
The only thing I would have liked to change was to stay a week longer! Because after two weeks I started to feel really comfortable, so I think three weeks is better to really feel the immersion.
This trip was also a really good experience for me because they gave me enough space for myself and to think about myself. It was also one of my expectations to grow up and think about my life. And I will always remember "lessons of life" with Dudrey, it was amazing and a lot of moments of life, sharing, their habits and the phrases they used to say to me all the time...
In conclusion, I have not only found English teachers (although they are really good teachers), I have also found another family, lots of love, kindness and caring. Throughout my stay I feel safe and really welcome.
I could go on and on about this fantastic family, but you have to experience it to understand. Their welcome (even with their daughters who were adorable with me) and their generosity is just incredible. I will miss them.
Thank you for everything you have given to Anaïs during her stay at your home. She found a new place in the world where sharing nice and important moments she will surely remember with great pleasure all her life long ! Thank you so much for your kindness and care. You have a beautiful family and Anaïs is very lucky to be part of your life ! Thank you to your husband and daughters as well. 😘😘😘
